It absorbs whatever you are wearing and forms something new. Since Tsai is able to generate simple clothes, she can basically trick the machine into giving her clothes without taking real clothes in exchange.

When Tsai transforms into stuff like clothes, is the matter of the clothes identical to normal textiles, or is it "special"? If not identical, what happens if she forms simple clothes and gives them away? Do they eventually revert to doppelganger goop? And I presume she's able to transform normal matter that she eats into more doppelganger goop to replace the lost mass?

Things Tsai forms that leaves her main body (IE the part with her eyes and the power source) would rapidly turn into goop. So she is capable of forming a crossbow and shooting someone with with a bolt, and the bolt will strike its target and be hardened and sharp, but it would melt shortly thereafter.

So if she made clothes for someone else they would turn into slime immediately, unless she was "the clothes", but that's just kind of creepy.

She can turn other mass into "goop" but we're not going to get very scientific on that as she doesn't make sense in thermodynamics as we know it.
